Susan Marjetti, Managing Director, CBC Toronto, will receive the inaugural Outstanding Leadership Achievement Award for helping to attract larger, more diverse audiences in both private and public broadcasting in Toronto, Halifax, Winnipeg and Fredericton. A champion of an inclusive media, Ms Marjetti believes successful TV and Radio programs must speak to and connect with an ever-evolving audience. She has led well-known changes in broadcast programming. Since 2002, one of those programs – Metro Morning – has been the number one radio morning program in Toronto. It recently earned the top spot a record-breaking 42 times.
Innoversity will also present special “Angel Awards” to four individuals who have supported the organization’s efforts to make Canada’s media more creative and innovative by encouraging broadcasters to be more inclusive.
