Internationally acclaimed artist and filmmaker Melanie Gilligan is casting for a new film, The Common Sense, made in collaboration with the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, Toronto. Gilligan’s work has been shown in renowned venues throughout Europe and North America. This new work will be shown at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery and Le Salle de Bain, Lyon, among other possible venues. It is a television drama style work to be shown in such exhibitions as well as broadcast online via a dedicated website.
This casting call for roles in Gilligan’s new film is open to all actors, age 25-70. All character types, genders, ethnicities and physical/ body-types welcome. Actors should have extensive experience in both theatre and film and must be capable of memorizing and performing challenging material. Previous work with improvisation is welcome.

Shooting will begin in March, 2012.
Casting dates: Dec. 14th & 15th with call back dates on Dec. 17th & 18th.
Type of work: non-union.
Compensation: Actors will be paid an honorarium the amount of which is to be decided.
