Dear friends,
In 2012 Aluna Theatre embarks on our most ambitious project to date, RUTAS PANAMERICANAS / PANAMERICAN ROUTES, a new Festival of Theatre for Human Rights: MAY 15 – 27, 2012.
We need your help and support to make this event a success.
We invite you to join us on February 10th at our Latin Love Valentine Celebration for an evening of salsa, swing, music, and great prizes.
This is how the evening will work:
Three couples from three dance schools will give a demonstration in each style of salsa (Casineros Unidos), swing (Bees’ Knees Dance) and bachata (P.O.S.E Dance Company). Then the competition begins! You’ll be given an opportunity to “dance up a storm” in each style. Improve your chances of winning by snagging a private lesson with one of our professional dancers.
We will be serving delicious Latin American finger food, and the cash bar will be open throughout the event.
The evening will be hosted by the beautiful drag queen “Dyna Thirst”, with music by our awesome DJ, NOLOVES.

ALSO ON THE GO AT ALUNA THEATRE…
Aluna Cafe
After an incredibly successful inaugural Aluna Cafe, we invite you to join us for the 2nd edition this Monday, January the 30th, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. (Free entry)
We will be reading Paper Flowers by Chilean playwright Egon Wolff. One of the most important figures in Latin American drama, Wolff modernized Chilean theatre with his avant-garde sensibility and acute awareness of life’s absurdities. Emerging from the experimental theatre movement in Santiago in the 1940s, he went on to become the best-known Chilean dramatist of the 20th century.
Our Aluna Café is a spontaneous, thought-provoking exploration of art where anyone can be the critic. It’s also the first step into a wonderful intercultural adventure that will broaden our horizons.
The reading will take place at Aluna’s Macondo studio: 1 Wiltshire Ave., studio 128.
