TRIBUTE (A moving history of Canadian Blacks in Dance) is a celebration of Black dance artists who have contributed to the Canadian and global dance ecology. dance Immersion pays homage to individuals through a production highlighting the history, artistry and contributions presented through the medium of dance, film and spoken word. Honorees include: Len Gibson, Jeni Legon, Dindi Lidge, Zab Maboungou, Paul Pettiford, Kevin Pugh and Jean Sheen. There will be a presentation by Compagnie Danse Nyata Nyata, remounts by Canadian dance companies; Ronald Taylor Dance, Caribbean Dance Theatre, Learie McNicolls and Danny Grossman.
These presentations will be woven together with the assistance of film by Gregory Christmas, Contemporary Blues Poet- Amani, and musical score by Amadou Kienou.
