Not to be missed, Art Gallery of Ontario “Merge”, an annual exhibition of emerging artists, features the artworks of former artsScene director Derek Wong. Also at the exhibit are three artists from Angell Gallery, whose director Jamie Angell spoke to us at our most recent Breakfast series.
 
Join AGO art consultants at the opening reception for a glass of wine and view recent paintings and photography from seven of their favourite emerging artists.

The 9th Annual Toronto Timeraiser 

This is it! Our 9th Toronto Timeraiseris March 24th 2012 at the Fermenting Cellar. Participate in one of Toronto’s most dynamic volunteer and arts focused events and help us reach our goal of raising 10,000 volunteer hours. Don’t wait to get your tickets – last year’s tickets sold out in record time.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at timeraiser.ca. Once you have purchased your ticket online, you are on our guest list. No paper ticket necessary.
 
Timeraiser 101
The Timeraiser is part volunteer fair, part silent art auction, and part night on the town. Throughout the evening meet with non-profit organizations and match your skills to their needs. Once you have made your matches, you are eligible to bid on artwork. The big twist is rather than bid money, you bid volunteer hours. If you have the winning bid, you have 12 months to complete your pledge before bringing the artwork home as a reminder of your goodwill.

C Magazine’s Annual Art Auction

C The Visual Arts Foundation is pleased to announce the 8th annual C Magazine Auction, a contemporary art fundraiser featuring works generously donated by 60 of Canada’s best emerging, mid-career and established artists. The live auction takes place on Wednesday April 11th at the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA), with auctioneer services provided by Perry Tung, courtesy of Bonhams Canada.  Admission includes complimentary food, an open bar and a subscription to C Magazine.
