Expanding Your Capacity for Connections: Emerging Trends in Online Meeting Capabilities

Thursday, 13 December 2012 from 4-6pm

CSI Spadina
Alterna Room (4th floor)
215 Spadina Avenue
Toronto, ON M5T 2C7

How can you still be productive in working with others when you aren’t able to meet in-person? With today’s technology there are many (free and low cost!) ways to have one-on-one and group meetings where you can share your screen, work together on documents and see each other with video. This workshop will show you how to use these features with popular tools such as Skype, Google+ Hangout and GoToMeeting, and discuss what you need to think about when picking a tool.

All participants are asked to bring your laptops and please set up a Skype and Google+ account prior to the workshop.

This workshop is free. To register please visit: http://expandingconnections.eventbrite.ca/

About TechSoup Canada:

TechSoup Canada is a non profit who connects you to the technology you need to do your work. We partner with major technology companies to make their software more affordable for registered charities, non-profits and libraries. For example, arts charities may be eligible to request copies of software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Intuit Quickbooks (accounting software) and only pay an admin fee of about 4-10% of the retail value. To find out if you are eligible, register here: http://techsoupcanada.ca/getting_started. TechSoup Canada also helps you learn about using technology in your work by offering (free!) resources in our Learning Centre and blog, running workshops, webinars and events (including our monthly Toronto Net Tuesday event) and connecting you to great content and peer discussions on social media.
