The Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) is continuing to accept nominations for the 2013 MARTY awards! Currently into its 19th year, the 2013 MARTY Awards honour and support established as well as emerging artists in the community for their artistic achievement. MARTY AWARD CATEGORIES INCLUDE:
• Literary Arts
• Media Arts
• Performing Arts
• Performing Arts Groups
• Visual Arts
Each category honours an emerging artist and established artist with all winners receiving a cash prize of $1000, extensive media coverage and recognition at the MARTYs Arts Award ceremony. In addition to recognizing local talent, special awards are presented to individuals who have nurtured the development of the arts in the City of Mississauga.
SPECIAL MARTY AWARD CATEGORIES INCLUDE:
• Volunteer of the Year Award• Laurie Pallett Patron of the Arts Award
• People’s Choice Award
• Creative Community Award
Once all of the nominations for the awards have been collected, the general public will be invited to vote for their favourite artist in the running for the People’s Choice Award through the Mississauga Art Council’s website. Nominate yourself or a deserving artist today!
