ARCOmadrid is launching its 2013 edition with Turkey as Guest Country, to be held on 13–17 February next year. As it continues evolving into a fair for discovery and exploration, it will continue to focus on the artists and the programmes of the participating galleries, while introducing new initiatives promoting its facet as a meeting place bringing together the most active professionals and international collectors.

One of the main programmes of the Fair will be FOCUS TURKEY. A selection of galleries chosen by the curator, the head of research and programmes at Istanbul’s SALT, Vasif Kortun, in partnership with the Turkish Embassy in Spain, will bring the contemporary artistic production of this emerging market to Madrid. Turkey’s presence in the city will also be enhanced by exhibitions and other activities in Madrid’s leading institutions and museums.

The curated programmes are also widening their focus, so that OPENING will go from being a section exclusively devoted to European galleries to embrace the international scene. Meanwhile, SOLO PROJECTS will present a selection of specific projects by Latin American artists, and after the positive reaction to the last edition, the “Highlighted Artist” and Solo Objects initiatives will return. Free Workshop for Nonprofits Your Legal Obligations under the AODA

Did you know that you have a legal requirement to train all your staff and volunteers in how to offer accessible customer service? Did you also know that you are required by law to have an accessible customer service policy?

If you have already done these two things – Congratulations! If you haven’t, read on….

The Ontario Nonprofit Network is offering two free workshops on the legal obligations of nonprofits under the Accessible Customer Service Standard of the AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act). As of January 1, 2012 all nonprofits (and businesses) in Ontario with one or more employees must comply with a set of legal requirements as it relates to people with disabilities.

To learn more about the AODA and your duties under it, come to either one of these two workshops:

May 10th, 1:00-3:30 p.m.  http://enotoronto2.eventbrite.com/
or
May 23rd, 1:00-3:30 p.m.  http://enotoronto3.eventbrite.com/

Both events are being held at CSI Spadina (215 Spadina Avenue) and are free.
