OPPORTUNITES AT ALUCINE – Internships and Volunteering
aluCine is currently looking for interns and volunteers to fill a variety of positions prior and during the festival:
SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEERS Special Events Volunteers are key in making all the special events taking place during the festival run smoothly and successfully. These events include the Opening & Closing Night Gala Parties, Press Conference, Galleries Opening and Closing and many more. Previous experience in events coordination is required.
FESTIVAL INTERN Our festival intern will be a great support in a variety of administrative tasks taking place at our office at St. Clair and in other logistics prior to the festival. He/she will also support the aluCine team in logistics for festival set-up, marketing materials distribution, invitations, tickets and guests lists coordination, and guests services for out-of-town visitors between others. Working in an exciting environment he/she will have the opportunity to learn about all aspects of administrating an independent Film Festival.
SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN aluCine is looking for an energetic individual who loves film and culture and who is ready to share his/her creativity in order to help us raise the awareness of the festival. Working closely with the Communications Coordinator and the Festival Assistant, the Social Media Intern will have the opportunity toassist in developing and executing social media strategies at our festival. He/she must have a strong understanding of social media platforms and familiarity in developing a promotion strategy. This is a great opportunity to gain hands on experience and build your portfolio.
For all the positions, the knowledge of Spanish and prior experience in festivals or other events are strong assets. Tell us your story, we want to hear from you!
In 2013, aluCine Latin Film + Media Arts Festival embarked on a strategic planning exercise to create a new five year plan for the organization. Our new strategic plan focuses on Board development, organizational development, and business planning to grow the organization to a place of impact and sustainability.
With funding from the Ontario Arts Council Compass program, aluCine engaged the services of consultant Judy Wolve (Consulting Matrix) to lead the planing sessions.

WELCOME!
Francisco Alvarez will join our team as a new member of aluCine’s Advisory Board. Francisco has more than 25 years of experience in the cultural sector and has collaborated in several film festivals such as Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Contact photography Festival, and Luminato.
Francisco currently works as the Managing Director of the Institute for Contemporary Culture (ICC) at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). We look forward to working with you in 2014!
